While we will never reveal the full details of the security in place at our events, we do need to share a few things with you guys. Below are some important details that all BYOC attendees need to keep in mind at GeForce LAN 4.
GeForce LAN 4 BYOC Hardware Policy
- All computers and displays must be tagged with unique barcodes at BYOC Check-in. This includes *LAPTOPS*. Any equipment without a tag matching the one assigned to you will not get out the door. Obviously, this means it is important not to lose your badge and/or tags too! We strongly recommend that you do not attempt to tamper with these barcodes. ;)
- Hardware Lockdown at GeForce LAN 4 will be from 1am to 9am. Only laptops, peripherals, iPods, phones, and similar small, personal items will be allowed out of the venue during this time. No PCs, no Displays. If you want to remove these items, do so before 1am.
- Hardware may be brought into the event during Hardware Lockdown. Again, make sure this is tagged before passing BYOC Check-in.
- Hardware will only be allowed to move out of one exit at GeForce LAN 4. This exit will be made very clear to all attendees during on site check-in. Attempting to remove hardware from the venue through any other exits will be a serious "no-no".
- All exits will be covered by security personnel and alarms. Triggering an alarm will be greatly frowned upon and may result in removal from the event. Don't mess with alternative exits unless there is a clear emergency. Again, you may only attempt to remove hardware of any sort from the venue through the to-be-designated exit.
- All bags exiting the venue will be checked. We ask that you comply with this as you do at an airport.
- Any actions which result in theft, damage, or otherwise illegal activity will be reported to the proper authorities immediately.
Overall, we simply ask that you be respectful of your fellow attendees and their equipment at all times.
A similar security policy will be in place for prizes won at the event as well. We'll disclose those details soon!
If there are any questions regarding this policy. Please feel free to open a Support Ticket or post in the BYOC Discussion Forum.
*Note that NVIDIA, ESS, and their affiliates are not responsible for the theft or damage of equipment at GeForce LAN. We reserve the right to update this policy at any time to better protect our attendees equipment. Be smart: protect your gear and valuables at all times!
