1.1 EVENT DATES

GeForce LAN 4 will be held from Friday November 16th through Sunday November 18th at the AREA 51 Event Center (2301 Monarch Street - Bldg 24 Alameda CA 94501.

1.2 AGE RESTRICTIONS

Please read this news post regarding Age Restrictions.

1.3 WHAT TO BRING

Here are the things that each attendee should bring with them to GeForce LAN 4...

  • Each registered attendee must have a valid form of government issued photo identification at on-site check-in. Passports, driver's licenses, or state issued identification cards are all examples of this requirement. Birth certificates, bills, etc help too in lieu of an ID. No one will be permitted to enter GeForce LAN 4 without proper identification.
  • All attendees must bring a copy of their payment receipt. This will likely be an email from Paypal. Your check-in process will be much faster if you bring this. For General Admission, bring a copy of your Registration Confirmation Email (as you didn't have to pay). There will be lines during registration for people that pre-paid and have their info, and much slower moving lines for those that don't have their requested info.
  • If you're under 18, bring a copy of your signed Parental Consent Form. If you're under 16, bring your parent or legal guardian as well.
  • For those attendees participating in tournaments, we recommend that each players brings their own peripherals (mouse, keyboard, headset, joystick, game pad, etc). Please do not bring wireless peripherals of any sort for official tournaments. Note that for Friday's Crysis event, sponsor provided perihperals will be used.

1.4 SUBSTANCE ABUSE

Substance abuse of any sort will not be tolerated at GeForce LAN 4 GeForce LAN 4. Anyone found using or under the influence of illegal substances will be removed from the event immediately. Likewise, any minors found consuming alcohol will be removed from the event immediately. In both cases, individuals will not be permitted to return to the event and the proper authorities will be contacted. No refunds will be used in either case. Attendees are not allowed to bring alcohol into the BYOC. GeForce LAN 4 is for gamers of all ages, please consume alcohol responsibly in the appropriate areas only.

1.6 GEFORCE LAN 4 GAMES TITLES

GeForce LAN 4 GeForce LAN 4 will feature official tournaments for the following games: Crysis, Team Fortress 2, and Madden 08. Other titles may be announced.

2.1 ADMISSION

BYOC Ticket: $25
General Admission: Free

2.2 GeForce LAN 4 TICKET DETAILS

BYOC Ticket - $25.00: This ticket includes a BYOC seat and table space (approx. 3'x3') for a PC, ability to sign up for GeForce LAN 4 tournaments and access to all the fun events, contests, raffles, food, drinks and sponsor areas. Basically, it's the only ticket you'll need to ride at GeForce LAN 4.

General Admission - Free: The NVIDIA GeForce LAN 4 General Admission ticket is free and provides access to the event for all 3 days. General Admission does not include a BYOC seat and does not allow you to participate in BYOC only related activities, contests, meals, and tournaments. Please select the BYOC ticket if you wish to take part in tournaments and BYOC events.

2.3 CONFIRMED, WAITING, & PENDING STATUS

Confirmed List: A confirmed participant is one who has paid their registration balance in full. In relation to teams games, this also means that the team has met the minimum player requirement to compete and that those players have paid their registration fees in full. Only confirmed players and teams will be permitted to compete at GeForce LAN 4.

Waiting List: Waiting List teams are those that have reached the minimum player requirement, but all players have not payed their registration fees.

Pending List: Pending List teams and players are those that have not reached the minimum player requirement or paid their registration fees.

2.4 REFUND POLICY

Refunds for GeForce LAN 4 tickets will be made only to the original purchaser through a support ticket request from the purchaser's registered account. All refunds are subject to a $2.00 service charge. No refunds will be processed after 11:59pm EST on Wednesday, November 14. After Wednesday, November 14, purchased tickets may only be transferred to another registrant.

To transfer a purchased ticket, please open a Support Ticket request and include the following: a) Full Name, b) Gaming Alias, and c) email address of the registrant to which the ticket is being transferred. Only upon confirmation of the transfer request by both the original purchaser and the transfer registrant, will the balance of the purchased ticket be officially transferred.

Absolutely no refunds will be processed for poor tournament performance, failure to comply with event rules and regulations, failure to attend the event, or any other reason after Wednesday, November 14.

2.5 TICKET/TEAM CHANGES AND OTHER INQUIRIES

Open up a Support Ticket to request changes to your registration. Note that past the deadline, we can only transfer your balances, not refund them.

3.4 PARKING

There will be plenty of free parking spaces at the Naval Base, but we encourage you to carpool.

4.1 BYOC?

Yes

4.2 BYOC Size

GeForce LAN 4 will have 450 BYOC seats available for attendees with plenty of space to contain 1 PC, 1 LCD or CRT or TV up to 32", and of course, a chair!

4.3 SLEEPING POLICY

Several hotels are located near AREA 51 (see section 3.3), please take advantage of them.

4.4 BYOC HOURS

The GeForce LAN 4 BYOC will be open throughout the entire event all day and night for your gaming pleasure!

4.5 BYOC EQUIPMENT RESTRICTIONS

Each person with a BYOC Ticket may bring one (1) PC system and one (1) display no greater in size than 32 inches in physical width. Each ticket will come with 2 power outlets, 1 ethernet cable, 3'x3' of table space, and a chair. Absolutely no additional equipment may be plugged into the BYOC power outlets. 650watts of power is the maximum allowed per seat. No charging of cell phones, no external speakers, no UPS's--only 1 PC and 1 display that takes up 32 inches of space or less. Yes, you can bring your own chair, but it must not exceed 2.5 feet in width.

Should you have any special needs (need more power, more space, etc), please open up a Support Ticket to discuss the matter.

4.6 BYOC INTERNET

Yes, there will be an internet connection for the BYOC at GeForce LAN 4. That said... you can expect most bandwidth intensive things to be blocked (P2P, video sites, etc).

4.7 BYOC RESERVATIONS

Yes, BYOC Seats may be reserved. Instructions may be found <here. It is important that you reserve your seat as soon as you pay your balance. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Once they are full, that's it!

5.1 COACHING

Yes, each team may have one coach.

5.2 MUTLIPLE TOURNAMENTS

Yes... HOWEVER, should there be a scheduling conflict a player/team would be required to forfeit one match or the other. Multiple tournaments will be more easily managed in disciplines with shorter match lengths.

5.3 PRIZE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Over $50,000.00 in sponsor products will be given out throughout the GeForce LAN 4. Additional sponsored product prizes, as well as door prizes, giveaways, raffles, contests and event prizes will soon follow.

5.4 TOURNAMENT RULES

6.1 TOURNAMENT PC SPECS

Alienware and Dell will be provide superb tournament PCs for Crysis and Team Fortress 2 tournaments, respectively.

6.2 PLAYER PERIPHERALS

Players absolutely can bring their own mice, keyboards, and headsets and are encouraged to do so. There are some restrictions, however. First and foremost, no controllers supporting programmable scripting of any sort will be allowed. We also strongly discourage the use of wireless peripherals or any sort.

6.3 OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT GAME TITLES

GeForce LAN 4 will feature PC tournaments for:
